On May 27th, 2011 the cooperation study on the Stone Forest Scenic Spot in Yunnan was carried out by Yunnan University, Associate Researcher Hong Liu from Yunnan IGo(Institute of Geography), and four experts, Dr. Tadej Slabe, Dr. Martin Knez, Dr. Janja Kogovsek and Dr. Janez Mulec, all from the Slovenia Karsts Institute. Among them, Dr. Tadej Slabe, Dr. Martin Knez and Dr. Janja Kogovsek are not the new guests to the Stone Forest any more because they had done a numerous scientific studies in the Stoen Forest years before. The trip to the Stone Forest this time aimed at gauging the dissolution observation points which had been set in the scenic spots and at supplemental inspections on part of the wild stone forest species. The target of the trip was to publish jointly with Slovenia a research monograph named Shilin to sum up the research fruits of the past ten years.

During the visiting to the Stone Forest, Dr. Tadej and Dr. Martin Knez donated a book named SOUTH CHINAKARST II to the Stone Forest Administration. The book mainly introduces the research fruits of the Stone Forest Karsts.
